Northwest ISD Stem Academy Industry Partner RoundTable

On Tuesday, September 15 at 8:00 a.m., CTE will host our Industry Partner Roundtable in the Northwest High School STEM Commons (2301 Texan Trail, parking on east side where it has CTE on the building). The purpose of the Roundtable is simple: bring education and industry to the same table.

Our students are developing skills in engineering and CAD, robotics and automation, computer programming and software development, information technology and cybersecurity, and real-world problem solving. We want to strengthen the connection between what students are learning in the classroom and the skills, experiences, and opportunities available within our local business community. We’re inviting companies to participate in whatever way best fits their organization.

Opportunities could include serving on our Industry Advisory Board, providing internships or job-shadowing experiences, offering facility tours, supplying guest speakers or industry mentors, or collaborating with our students on authentic industry projects and challenges. Just as importantly, we want to listen to our industry partners. We want to understand the skills employers need, expose students to careers they may not yet know exist, and create relationships that can grow into meaningful opportunities for both our students and local businesses.

We want to build a network of educators, businesses, and community leaders committed to developing local talent and creating experiences our students will remember long after they leave Northwest High School.
